•    Quality measures. ACO participation allows gastroenterologists the opportunity to play an active role in setting quality measures. They can take the lead in ensuring the correct data is recorded in an organization’s EMR, thereby ensuring their performance and ensuing reimbursement is accurate.
•    Bundled payments. Payers and ACOs are both expressing interest in the bundled payment model. Gastroenterologists in ACOs have the opportunity to help shape these models for procedures such as colonoscopy and in more complex areas such as inflammatory bowel disease.
