James Berkes, MD, and Scott Cotler, MD, are joining the new division of hepatology established by Loyola University Health System in Maywood, Ill., and the Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Cotler has been named division director of hepatology of LUHS and professor for SSOM. Dr. Berkes will serve at Loyola as medical director of liver transplantation.

DuPage Medical Group in Glen Ellyn, Ill., announced the addition of Sandeep Devata, MD, to its multi-specialty physician group. He specializes in the treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the colon and rectum, gastrointestinal disorders and hernia and gallbladder surgeries, with a special emphasis in laparoscopic surgery.
George T. Fantry, MD, has been appointed as assistant dean for student affairs, education and research in the offices of student affairs and student research at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

David Kawatu, MD, has joined the faculty of the UC Davis School of Medicine in Sacramento, Calif. He will serve as chief of pediatric gastroenterology in the department of pediatrics.
Daniel Paulo, MD, has been appointed to the board of Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, N.Y. He serves as the president of the medical staff at RUMC and led the development of a new endoscopy center that opened earlier this year.
David Ramsay, MD, has joined North Carolina’s Digestive Health Specialists. He will see patients out of the practice’s Winston-Salem and Advance offices.
Pediatric gastroenterologist Mohammad Tabbah, MD, has joined Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Mich. He will see patients at Hurley Pediatric Specialists.
Andrew H. Talal, MD, associate professor at the Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, has been named chief of the division of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition in the University at Buffalo’s (N.Y.) department of medicine. He has also been appointed UB professor of medicine. He will officially join UB in September.
