Here are more than 40 cardiologists who joined new hospital, health systems and clinics, as reported by Becker's in 2024:

Oklahoma City-based Cardiovascular Specialists and physician Stewart Katz, MD, have paid $270,000 to settle false claims allegations. 

New York City-based NYU Langone Heart has expanded care services to the NYU Langone Hospital in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn, according to a Dec. 29 report from the BKReader.

Montgomery, Ala.-based River Region Cardiology Associates has filed a notice of data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth's cardiology team is the first in the state to perform transcatheter pulmonary valve therapy using Medtronic's Harmony technology, Arizona Digital Free Press reported Dec. 26.

Cardiology has emerged as a leading specialty in the ASC industry, particularly as increasingly complex procedures migrate to the outpatient setting. 

Sixteen separate cardiology practices across 12 states have agreed to pay a total of more than $17.7 million to resolve allegations they overbilled Medicare for diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals. 

The highest-paid cardiologist in Tampa, Fla., earns $892,600, according to Medscape's salary reporter tool, which is much higher than the mean annual wage of $423,250 cardiologists make according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Samuel Family Cardiology is planning to open a new location, according to a Dec. 19 report from Community Impact.
