Fifty-three percent of cardiologists would be willing to take a pay cut in order to achieve better work-life balance, according to Medscape's "Cardiologist Lifestyle & Happiness Report 2024: The Ongoing Struggle for Balance" report published March 8.

Little Rock-based University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences' department of internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine has added cardiologist Michael Luna, MD, as a professor. 

The FDA has approved Wegovy, Novo Nordisk's version of semaglutide approved for weight loss, to be used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular death, heart attack and stroke in adults with cardiovascular disease and either obesity or overweight.

The highest paid cardiologist in San Antonio earns $807,100, according to Medscape's salary reporter tool, which is much higher than the mean annual wage of $421,330 cardiologists make according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
