West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health Medical Group will welcome Michael Benz, MD, as a new member of the medical group in September. 

The global market for AI in cardiology topped $2 billion in 2024 at a CAGR of 39.2%.

The highest-paid cardiologist in Charlotte, N.C., earns $947,300, according to Medscape's salary reporter tool, which is much higher than the mean annual wage of $423,250 cardiologists make according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers reportedly paid cardiology fellows a total of $13.3 million between 2014 and 2021, according to a July 31 report from Medscape.

Cardiology is one of the fastest-growing specialties for ASCs, and many leaders feel this growth  will only accelerate as payers, investors and physicians realize the opportunities.
