A cardiologist has filed a lawsuit against his former employer, claiming he was fired after bringing up concerns about another physician, according to a Nov. 22 report by FOX 17.

There are 3.96 cardiologists for every 100,000 residents in West Virginia, the worst-ranked state for healthcare.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Broward Health Physician Group has hired Jose Baez-Escudero, MD, as its first-ever systemwide chief of cardiology, South Florida Hospital News reported Nov. 20. 

Allentown, Pa.-based Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute has added two new cardiology specialists to its team. 

There are 10.93 cardiologists for every 100,000 residents in Rhode Island, the best-ranked state for healthcare.

Colorado Springs Cardiology and Heart & Vascular Partners have broken ground on a medical office building in Colorado Springs, Colo., according to a Nov. 19 report from Mile High CRE.

Beebe Healthcare Selbyville (Del.) has partnered with Wilmington, Del.-based Nemours Children's Health to open a new cardiac specialty care clinic, according to a Nov. 19 report from NBC affiliate CoastTV.
