Hartford (Conn.) HealthCare has received certificate-of-need approval to acquire Wallingford, Conn.-based Consulting Cardiologists P.C. The system expects that the transaction will be completed this summer, it confirmed in an email to Becker’s June 9.

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group filed a certificate-of-need application with Connecticut’s Office of Health Strategy in October 2025 to acquire the 16-physician cardiology group, which operates 10 offices across Hartford, Middlesex and New Haven counties.

Once integrated, Consulting Cardiologists’ physicians, staff and facilities will operate under Hartford HealthCare’s Heart and Vascular Institute. The practice, founded in 1971, includes subspecialists in invasive cardiology, electrophysiology, vascular medicine, cardio-oncology and heart transplantation.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
