Nurse practitioners earn the most on the East and West Coasts, according to Medscape’s 2019 APRN compensation report.

Medscape fielded responses from 3,545 APRNs to compile its report, including 2,001 nurse practitioners, 460 certified registered nurse anesthetists, 626 clinical nurse specialists and 458 nurse midwives.

How gross income for NPs compared between regions:

1. Pacific: $125,000
2. New England: $114,000
3. Mid-Atlantic: $111,000
4. West South Central: $110,000
5. Mountain: $106,000
6. East North Central: $105,000
7. South Atlantic: $103,000
8. West North Central: $101,000
9. East South Central: $100,000
