States that lost Medicare-certified ASCs from 2017-18

New Mexico lost more Medicare-certified ASCs than any other state from June 2017-18, according to data from The Ambulatory Surgery Center Association.

Using data provided by CMS, ASCA reported the number of Medicare-certified ASCs in each state as of June 2017 and June 2018. Here are the states that lost Medicare-certified ASCs from 2017-18:

1. New Jersey: -10
2. Washington: -6
3. Ohio: -5
4. South Dakota: -2
5. South Carolina: -2
6. Tennessee: -2
7. Massachusetts: -1
8. Colorado: -1
9. New Mexico: -1
10. Indiana: -1
