2. When organizations use the AAAHC’s “10 elements” of a quality improvement plan most often meet AAAHC’s standards for a quality improvement program and improved performance.
3. An organization’s benchmarking activities should ideally include: using performance measures that are appropriate, collecting and analyzing data systematically, using valid benchmarks that are related to valid data and measuring changes in performance.
4. Successful participation in a benchmarking study should demonstrate improvements in performance over time, and the results should be incorporated into other quality improvements and should be shared with an organization’s governing body.
