Obtaining the necessary supplies during the pandemic left many ASCs scrambling. Over a year into the pandemic, many ASCs are still struggling to receive the resources they need to function properly. 

While many states bounced back from pandemic-related unemployment claims, some ASCs are still struggling with patients unable to afford surgeries in their centers.

Gastroenterologist Louis Lambiase, MD, has been named regional dean of the Montgomery (Ala.) Regional Medical Campus at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine, the university said May 12. 

Some ASCs are still experiencing staffing shortages related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
