ASC developers are turning to churches, malls and restaurants to open new centers. Here are six buildings being converted to ASCs:

One GI, a gastroenterology platform, was established in April 2020 by a partnership between private equity firm Webster Equity Partners and Memphis, Tenn.-based Gastro One. 

Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System is building an ASC in the Morristown Medical Center's Health Pavilion in Rockaway, N.J., according to an April 22 LinkedIn post by Buckl Architects, the renovation's architect. 

Cardiology-driven ASCs only make up 2 percent of single-specialty ASCs, but there has been an increasing trend of cardiology procedures being performed in an outpatient setting. 

Dermatology-focused surgery centers make up 4 percent of single-specialty ASCs, according to MedPAC's 2021 Report to Congress.
