1. VMG Health said total cash compensation for hepatologists, pediatric genetics and non-surgical orthopedics has grown the most.
2. Hepatologists compensation has grown due to a shortage hepatologists, which increases demand. Between 2018 and 2019, salaries for hepatologists grew 27.8 percent.
3. A decline in reimbursement for orthopedic surgeons and the shift to value-based care has led to an increase in demand for non-surgical orthopedic specialists. Salaries for non-surgical orthopedic specialists grew 6.8 percent between 2018 and 2019.
4. Technological advances in genomics and lab tests is driving growth for pediatric geneticists, with salary growing 11 percent between 2018 and 2019.
