Smoothing the process of healthcare change: 3 considerations for physician leaders

The healthcare industry is changing, and physicians should well prepare themselves for the bumpy ride, according to DiagnosticImaging.

Here are three considerations:

1. With change comes uncertainty and pushback. Ensure you slow down and consider all aspects of the change by planning out the process. If it's unplanned change, assess major obstacles, whether that involves people or operations.

2. As a physician leader, you must maintain a positive attitude with your eye on the prize. Keep the change process on course, moving toward your practice's goal.

3. In addition to keeping up your attitude for others to follow, you must introspectively maintain a healthy and happy mindset about the change. Plan for tough times and hardships, and know how to overcome roadblocks.
