New Denver Surgery Center receives state accreditation to see patients — 3 insights

After its spring opening, the Denver Surgery Center recently received accreditation from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment allowing it to start accepting patients.

Here's what you should know:

1. The surgery center and its accompanying six-bed Convalescent Care & Recovery Center opened concurrently in the spring. The recovery center allows for higher acuity cases to be performed, while still cutting costs from inpatient settings.

2. The 17,000-square-foot center features five operating rooms.

3. The center in managed by Lakewood, Colo.-based Pinnacle III and was developed by Denver-based Saint Joseph Hospital.

Denver Surgery Center Director of Operations Jebby Mathew said, "We are extremely proud of the team at Denver Surgery Center. Our goal is to bring high quality care to the Denver community, and today’s accreditation brings us closer to that goal."
