In March, 22,400 jobs were added to the healthcare segment, which was one of only three industries that experienced significant growth, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report.
The healthcare segment, which includes ambulatory health care services, hospitals, and nursing and residential care facilities, experienced growth consistent with its average monthly gain over the past year. The other two segments with substantial employment growth in March were manufacturing and mining, which added 22,000 jobs and 8,500 jobs, respectively.
