Dr. Arun Gosain named to American College of Surgeons' Board of Governors: 4 things to know

Pediatric plastic surgeon Arun Gosain, MD, of Chicago's Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital was recently named to the American College of Surgeons' Board of Governors.

Here's what you need to know.

1. Dr. Gosain is an immediate past-president of the American Society of Maxiofacial Surgeons.

2, His career began after he earned his medical degree from the UCLA School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. He completed additional residencies at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, N.J. and at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Dr. Gosain then completed two fellowships; a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at the New York University School of Medicine.

3. Dr. Gosain is an accomplished educator. He currently serves as a professor of plastic surgery at Evanston, Ill.-based Northwestern University. He previously taught at The Medical College of Wisconsin and at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

4. Dr. Gosain has had his research published in more than 170 peer-reviewed journals. He has authored more than 50 book chapters.
