Cascade Surgicenter launches total hip, knee replacement program: 5 notes

The Center: Orthopedic & Neurosurgical Care & Research in Bend, Ore., launched an outpatient hip and knee replacement program at Cascade Surgicenter, according to The Bulletin.

Here are five notes:

1. Cascade Surgicenter is located inside The Center.

2. Four patients have thus far received a hip replacement at the Cascade Surgicenter.

3. Physicians at The Center first discussed offering total joint replacement cases in 2011. However, it took a few years to convince health insurers to participate.

4. Cascade Surgicenter features four operating suites and two procedure rooms.

5. The surgery center offers surgical services in orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery and pain management.
