AmSurg acquires 2nd radiology group, Physicians Endoscopy acquires 34th center, SCA partners with The CORE Institute & more – 5 ASC company key notes

Here are five recent news updates on ambulatory surgery center companies.

AmSurg acquired its second radiology group. Sheridan, the company's physician services division, completed the acquisition of Radiology Associates of Hollywood (Fla.).

Kevin Delon Eastridge, chief accounting officer of AmSurg, sold 8,999 shares of company stock at an average price of $60.43 per share, for a total transaction price of $543,809.57.

Physicians Endoscopy acquired a majority interest in the Philadelphia Gastroenterology Consultants Endoscopy Center of Excellence. The center is Physician Endoscopy's 34th. The joint venture relationship was finalized on Jan. 31.

Surgical Care Affiliates, The CORE Institute and six independent physicians partnered to open a surgical hospital in Phoenix. The new specialty center will be named The CORE Institute Specialty Hospital.

System-wide net operating revenues, including all facilities in which Surgical Care Affiliates owns an interest, increased 9.9 percent in the fourth quarter. The company's adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $27.9 million, up from $17.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2013.
