Ambulatory service market to reach $3T — 5 things to know

The global ambulatory services market is expected to reach nearly $3.43 trillion by 2022.

Here are five things to know:

1. The aging population and rising life expectancy has fueled the demand for outpatient services.

2. In 2014, North America was the largest regional market with its revenue per share estimated at over 40 percent. Europe was the second largest market.

3. Asia Pacific is expected to witness great growth due to increasing chronic disease, an aging population and rising hospital readmission rates. Weill Cornell Medicine and Top Spring Huaxia Medical partnered in November 2015, allowing Top Spring to help Weill Cornell create a modern outpatient diagnostic clinic in China.

4. Because technological advances allow more procedures to take place in the outpatient setting, specialty surgery's demand is projected to rapidly increase.

5. Key players in the market include AmSurg, Surgery Partners, Symbion, IntergraMed America, Nueterra, Terveystalo Healthcare Oyj, Aspen Healthcare and Medical Facilities Corporation, according to the report.
