UnitedHealth Group starts exchange offer for SCA shares following Optum deal; Tenet shares plummet 18.7% in 52-week period: 5 ASC company notes

Here are five updates on ASC management companies from the past week.

Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare shares have dropped 18.68 percent over the past 52 weeks. Among analysts covering the stock, the consensus is a “hold.”

Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates partnered with 19 surgery centers between Jan. 1 and Dec. 1, 2016. Some of the company’s recent acquisitions include Palos Hills (Ill.) Surgery Center and The Surgery Center at Doral (Fla.).

On the heels of SCA announcing its merger with Optum, a part of UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealth Group began an exchange offer to acquire all SCA outstanding shares. As per the offer’s terms, SCA stockholders will receive $57 for each SCA common stock, cash and UnitedHealth Group common stock.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corporation of America shares rallied 2.9 percent during the week of Feb. 20 to Feb. 24, 2017, trading at $87.07 per share.

Toronto, Canada-based Mackenzie Financial Corp. increased its stake in Greenwood, Colo.-based Envision Healthcare Corp. by 36.4 percent in the third quarter. Envision shares traded at $67.75 per share on Feb. 22, 2017.
