Here’s what you should know:
1. UnitedHealth will also acquire the Everett Clinic in Seattle through its deal with Denver-based DaVita Medical Group, which has yet to close.
2. UnitedHealth did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
3. The acquisitions match the vision CEO David Wichmann laid out in May for UnitedHealthcare’s future. Mr. Wichmann said UnitedHealth Group has a goal to enter and build care delivery options in 75 targeted markets, serving about 60 percent of the U.S. population.
4. Mr. Wichmann said in May Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Optum would be a key facilitator of this growth.
