Here are four organizations that have recently acquired physician practices and ASCs, as reported by Becker’s since Oct. 6:

  1. Big Sky Medical, an investment management firm, bought Hillcrest Medical Park, a 31,661-square-foot outpatient medical office building in Frisco, Texas.
  2. Newton, Mass.-based Atrius Health, a subsidiary of Optum, plans to acquire Acton Medical Associates, a 45-provider primary care group serving the Boston area.
  3. Charlotte, N.C.-based Flagship Healthcare Properties acquired an ASC in Panama City, Fla., expanding its Florida portfolio.
  4. Overland, Kan.-based Head and Neck Surgery of Kansas City is expanding into its fourth location as it takes over the office of Parker Thornton, MD, at his office in Shawnee Mission, Kan.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
