Tenet searches for permanent CEO as Trevor Fetter steps down; SCA invests in South Carolina ASC & more: 5 ASC company notes

Here are five updates on ASC management companies to note:

Trevor Fetter stepped down from his position as CEO and resigned as director of Tenet Healthcare, effective Oct. 23. The company's board of directors named Tenet Executive Chairman Ronald Rittenmeyer CEO and is conducting a search for a permanent CEO.

Surgical Care Affiliates, a part of OptumCare's network of healthcare providers and services, invested in Columbia, S.C.-based Midlands Orthopaedics Surgery Center. The ASC also offers smaller orthopedic procedures, including fracture repair, carpal tunnel and bunion surgeries.

United Surgical Partners International entered into a partnership with Santa Barbara (Calif.) Surgery Center Oct. 1. The center is now jointly owned by area physicians and USPI.

Medical Facilities Corp. shares fell 8.12 percent Oct. 16. The company's P/E ratio is 10.2.

During the week of Oct. 16 to Oct. 20, Hospital Corporation of America shares jumped 8.6 percent, trading at $81.04 per share.
