Surgery Center South in Alabama files CON for expansion

Surgery Center South in Dothan, Ala., has filed a certificate of need for an expansion project, according to a mondaq report.

The CON requests permission to lease an additional 7,569 square feet of space adjacent to the existing surgery center. The leased space would be used to add six more operating rooms and 16 preoperative and recovery care bays.

Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan and Dothan Surgery Center oppose Surgery Center South’s expansion plans, according to the report.

The CON is pending.
