Provena filed an application with the Illinois Health and Facilities Planning Board on March 5 to transfer ownership of Danville HealthCare to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center through an LLC.

The acquisition would not replace Provena’s current ambulatory care unit that houses endoscopy and outpatient surgery within the hospital, but rather offer another choice for area patients with less complex surgical procedure needs.
