Four members of the nine-member panel voted in favor of a $2.4 million outpatient surgery center proposed for southwest suburban Palos Hills by Gary Kronen, MD, and Anton Fakhouri, MD. However, two members were absent, and five votes from the panel are needed for passage.
The board has been plagued by absenteeism in the past, according to the report.
