Port Jefferson (N.Y.) Surgery Center held its grand opening ceremony May 12, Greater Port Jeff reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The 16,000-square-foot surgery center opened in January but just recently celebrated its grand opening.

2. The center was developed as a joint venture between 19 community surgeons, Port Jefferson-based Mather Hospital and Lakewood, Colo.-based Pinnacle III.

3. The center has six operating rooms. Center physicians specialize in orthopedics, ophthalmology, pain management, general surgery, neurosurgery and otolaryngology.
