Boston-based Partners HealthCare aims to open multiple outpatient clinics in Eastern Massachusetts and focus on ambulatory growth over the next five years, The Boston Globe reports.

Here's what you should know:

1. Officials didn't disclose how many locations are in the works, but one might include an orthopedic surgery center.

2. The clinics are expected to open in busy suburban areas near major highways.

3. Partners' existing outpatient centers in Waltham, Danvers and Foxborough — all in Massachusetts — offer specialty care and day surgeries. The organization also has hundreds of physician offices and around 12 walk-in clinics.
