In mid-April the South Carolina Supreme Court ruled that the state's certificate of need program would stand. Now, the state's public health department is requesting the court review its ruling, according to a report by The Post and Courier.  

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs opened a 19,100-square-foot, $10 million outpatient surgery center on its Mather, Calif., campus, according to a Sacramento Business Journal report.

AmSurg announced its financial results for the first quarter ended March 31. The company's revenues were $263.1 million, up 2 percent from $258.2 million in the first quarter of 2013.

Campbell Clinic, based in Memphis, Tenn., acquired Midtown Surgery Center in October 2013 and will now open the 18,000-square-foot facility, according to a Memphis Business Journal report.
