Here are three new joint venture ASCs announced in the past month:

Senator Tom Apodaca (R-48) has introduced legislation that would eliminate North Carolina's certificate of need program, but the bill is not without opposition, according to a Charlotte Observer report.

Construction will begin in Gainesville, Fla., on a new University of Florida Health outpatient children's surgical center, which is expected to open in spring 2016, and will cost $11 million, reports Gainesville.com.

Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care will spend $38 million on a new medical office building and outpatient surgery center in Germantown, Wis., which will be open within a year, according to the Milwaukee Business Journal.

The Orthopedic Ambulatory Surgery Center of Chesterfield (Mo.) has filed form D in regards to $1 million in financing, according to an OCTA Finance report. 


The Advanced Vision Institute, based in Hampton, Va., has broken ground on its new Advanced Vision Surgery Center in James City County, Va., according to a Daily Press report. 


Southern Pines, N.C.-based Carolina Eye Associates is acquiring Southeastern Eye Center in Greensboro, N.C., according to a report by The Pilot.

The Southtowns Ambulatory Surgery Center project in Orchard Park, N.Y., is set to undergo a second vote and Michael Rauh, MD, a surgeon with UBMD Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine has voiced his support, according to a Buffalo Business First report.

Cottage Health System in Santa Barbara, Calif., plans to sell Santa Barbara Outpatient Surgery Center, which may delay the system's merger with Sansum Clinic by six months, according to a Pacific Coast Business Times report.
