Ohio’s Akron Children’s Hospital Gets A1 Bond Rating From Moody’s

Akron (Ohio) Children’s Hospital has received an A1 bond rating from Moody’s Investors Service, according to a report from Crain’s Cleveland Business.

Moody’s revised its outlook for the hospital from negative to stable, citing the hospital’s 62 percent market share, operating-performance and liquidity-balance improvements, and favorable debt-coverage ratios.

But Moody’s said the hospital faces challenges from an increasing Medicaid population, competition from other hospitals and a flat or declining local population.
