The planned $25 million medical center is expected to be comprised of a roughly 20,000-square-foot ASC and 64,000-square-foot hospital.
While the project has yet to be finalized, the Altoona City Council recently voted to enter into an exclusivity agreement with OakLeaf Surgical so the deal can be completed. Officials expect the purchase and development agreement to be finished within 90 days, and then the plan falls for groundbreaking in late summer or early fall.
Construction is expected to take 15-18 months, with OakLeaf Surgical relocating to Altoona in 2014.
