NY health system expanding campus, adding surgery center — 4 insights

The New York Department of Health approved Kingston, N.Y.-based HealthAlliance of Hudson Valley’s $92 million expansion of its campus in midtown Kingston, the Daily Freeman reports.

Here’s what you should know.

1. HealthAlliance is planning to add a four-story, 100,000-square-foot tower to its Mary’s Avenue Campus. The tower will increase the campus’ size by 33 percent.

2. The tower will add an emergency department, 200 inpatient beds, an imaging center, inpatient surgical suites, a same-day surgery center, an expanded postsurgical recovery unit and an advanced endoscopy services center.

3. The project is expected to be complete in 2020.

4. HealthAlliance President David Scarpino said, “We’re thrilled to have received approval for this important project from the Department of Health. Like us, the Department of Health sees the critical need for this effort.”
