NC Court to Rule on Development of New Surgery Center

The North Carolina Court of Appeals will determine whether Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, based in Winston-Salem, N.C., is allowed to build a new $38.7 million ambulatory surgery center, according to a Business Journal report (subscription required for full access).

State regulators have twice approved the proposed 72,300-square-foot surgery center, but the approval has been appealed both times by competitor Novant Health.

 

Wake Forest Baptist in proposing to build a surgical center with seven new operating rooms and one transferred from N.C. Baptist Hospital next to its main campus, according to earlier reports.
