Mount Sinai establishes Eye and Vision Research Institute: 4 key notes

New York’s Mount Sinai Health System created the Mount Sinai/New York Eye and Ear (NYEE) Eye and Vision Research Institute.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The institute will be the first of its kind in New York City.

2. Mount Sinai is viewing it as a way to expand its eye and vision research portfolio.

3. The institute will encourage collaboration between faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the academic departments throughout the Mount Sinai Health System.

4. Mount Sinai tapped Douglas A. Jabs, MD, to be the center’s inaugural director.
