Louisiana hospital receives approval to develop outpatient surgery center — 3 insights

The state approved Baton Rouge (La.) General Medical Center’s outpatient surgery center project, according to the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report.

What you should know:

1. The hospital received approval to start developing Baton Rouge General Center for Health, a surgery center.

2. The center will be developed in a facility New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System previously occupied. The hospital will expand the space by 11,700 square feet.

3. The center will house six surgical suites, physician offices, clinical space, outpatient rehabilitation space and Baton Rouge General’s graduate medical education programs.
