Iowa medical center readies to open new surgery center — 4 insights

Shenandoah (Iowa) Medical Center is putting the finishing touches on its new outpatient surgery center, KMA Land reports.

Here’s what you should know:

1. The surgery center is part of a $22 million expansion project that began in June 2015. Hospital officials estimate the surgery center will be complete in early December.

2. The center will be 18,000 square feet and will have three operating rooms as well as an endoscopy suite.

3. The center will offer patients several services, including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecological services, podiatry, urology, cataract surgery, gastroenterology and interventional radiology.

4. The hospital is going to hold an open house and will create a virtual tour series to show off the new facility.
