Illinois hospital breaks ground on $95M surgery center — 3 insights

Carle and Christie Clinic physicians broke ground on a new joint venture surgery center in Champaign, Ill., willradio.tv.online reports. Both organizations are also based in Champaign.

Here’s what you should know:

1. Christie Clinic and Carle have shared an outpatient surgery center since 2013. This $95 million project will replace that center.

2. Although both organizations could have built their own surgery center, they elected to joint venture on one center to maximize resources.

3. The new surgery center is expected to open in early 2019.
