Historic Building Stands in the Way of Saint Louis University’s New $75M Surgery Center

The board rejected the university’s request to demolish the Pevely building to make room for the surgical center on Monday. Saint Louis University’s president, Rev. Lawrence Biondi, and others told the board the center is needed to provide medical care in the city.

The designer of the surgical center says a decision on how to proceed has yet to be made.
