Effective immediately, High Plains Surgery Center and Covenant SurgiCenter, both in Lubbock, Texas, have merged, according to a Lubbock Avalanche-Journal report.

Here are four insights into the transaction.

1. The surgery center is now named the Covenant High Plains Surgery Center.

2. High Plains Surgery Center has been operating since 2006.

3. John M. Sautter Jr. will serve as administrator of the merged surgery centers.

4. Due to the transaction, the surgery center is now affiliated with Covenant Health, also based in Lubbock.
