HCA Healthcare grows to 150+ ASCs: 4 things to know

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare is one of the largest ASC companies in the country.

Here are four things to know about the company’s ASC growth:

1. HCA comprises 2,300 ambulatory care facilities, including more than 150 ASCs, freestanding emergency rooms, urgent care centers and physician clinics, according to its first-quarter earnings report. 

2. HCA continues to double down on developing outpatient facilities and increasing outpatient procedure migration, according to an April 21 first-quarter earnings call. 

3. Total outpatient procedures jumped 5 percent and outpatient cardiology procedures increased 7 percent in the first quarter. 

4.  The company ended 2021 with 125 ASCs, four more than it had at the end of 2020, and added more than 25 ASCs in 2022.
