Envision Healthcare Corp. expands in Arizona through Oro Valley Anesthesia acquisition: 4 highlights

Colorado-based Envision Healthcare Corp.’s physician services division acquired Tucson, Ariz.-based Oro Valley Anesthesia.

Here are four highlights:

1. Oro Valley Anesthesia provides patient care at eight ASCs as well as two hospitals throughout Tucson.

2. Sixteen physicians and three certified registered nurse anesthetists compose the anesthesia practice.

3. Over the past few years, Envision strengthened its presence throughout the state by acquiring anesthesia, neonatal and emergency medicine physician groups.

4. Envision’s physician services division has also penned contracts with various health systems in Arizona.

“We are successfully executing on a strategy of expanding our service offerings within key geographies by establishing the value that our model brings to our health system partners,” said Robert J. Coward, president of Envision’s physician services division. “Health systems are shifting expectations of their physician partners to include more comprehensive reporting on clinical and administrative measures. We believe that health systems benefit when physicians join Envision Physician Services and access the resources, infrastructure and expertise that we provide.”
