Administrators have been hosting employee meetings daily and plan to continue them through the weekend to encourage early retirements and reduce the number of potential layoffs.
The system has seen 25 percent of its inpatient care switch to the outpatient system over the last 18 months, according to the report. The health system is paid less for surgery in outpatient beds, and the health system views the shifts as “significant and permanent,” according to a spokesperson.
