Cuyuna Regional Medical Center in Crosby, Minn., will officially open its new surgery center, the first phase of a $13 million surgery expansion project, in February, according to a Brainerd Dispatch report.
The surgery center has five operating rooms, three endoscopy procedure rooms, an eye procedure room and multiple recovery bays. With the opening of the surgery center, the medical center will increase its number of ORs from four to seven.
Earlier this month the medical center held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the center.
The second phase of the project involves opening a surgery clinic, which will include lab services, a digital X-ray room, orthopedic exam rooms and physician office space, according to the report. The second phase of the project is expected to reach completion this summer.
