Community Health Systems acquires Southern Illinois Center for Health surgery center

Community Health Systems, based in Franklin, Tenn., has acquired select assets of the Southern Illinois Center for Health in Waterloo.

CHS acquired a physician-owned surgery center, imaging center and primary care and specialty practices.

Investment bank Brown Gibbons Lang & Company served as the exclusive financial advisor for the physician owners involved in the transaction.

CHS owns, leases or operates 199 affiliated hospitals in 29 states.
