Here are five things to know:

1. Cincinnati Eye Institute opened the CEI Middletown (Ohio) Surgery Center to offer a full range of ophthalmology services.

2. CEI already has an ASC on its Blue Ash campus; the new surgery center is located near Middletown, Ohio-based Atrium Medical Center. The new location will be more convenient for a portion of CEI’s patient population.

3. The new facility also includes clinical offices and doubles the space for the institution. As a result, CEI can recruit additional ophthalmologists and subspecialists.

4. The added three surgical operating rooms at CEI will alleviate wait time for patients to undergo surgery in addition to convenient access across the community.

5. CEI currently includes 41 ophthalmologists and 17 optometrists.

At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
