Athens- Limestone Hospital surgery center project revived

Athens (Ala.)-Limestone Hospital’s $35 million surgery center project was temporarily derailed when the County Commission decided to cut funding, but plans for the new facility are back on track, according to The News Courier.

The hospital hopes the new surgery center will help grow its revenue, according to the report.

Athens-Limestone is also focused on reducing expenses. The hospital recently eliminated 15 job positions, according to the report.
