Allegheny Health Network net income hits $13.4M, attributes financial improvements to ASC, physician office growth: 5 key points

During the third quarter, Pittsburgh-based Allegheny Health Network reported financial results that fared better than anticipated, according to Pittsburgh Business Times.

1. In the third quarter, Allegheny Health Network had net income of $13.4 million.

2. Operating revenues were $771.3 million.

3. Pittsburgh Business Times reports the net income is faring ahead of the net income plan Allegheny Health Network filed with the state insurance department.

4. The health system’s year-to-date net income is $41.8 million, which is $72 million higher than the plan previously filed.

5. Allegheny Health Network attributed the financial improvements to investments in various programs in addition to year-over-year growth in ASCs, inpatient visits, births and physician office visits.
