Advantia acquires Women’s Health and Surgery Center — 6 insights

Arlington, Va.-based Advantia Health acquired the Women’s Health and Surgery Center, which has locations in Stafford, Va. and Fredericksburg, Va. The transaction was announced by Global Healthcare Advisors.

Here are six insights.

1. WHSC’s four physicians and eight mid-level providers will join Advantia’s team.

2. The transaction strengthens Advantia’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region.

3. Kurian Thott, MD, founded WHSC in 2008. Services provided at the center include routine gynecological procedures and advanced minimally invasive surgery.

4. Advantia now has a team of 98 providers serving 150,000 women across Maryland and Virginia.

5. Advantia plans to expand services at its practices to include mental health and wellness, primary care and expanded in-office testing and diagnostics.

6. Global Healthcare Advisors initiated the transaction and acted as a buy-side adviser to Advantia Health.
